Unicommerce Reports Strong Q3 Performance with 26% Revenue Growth, 61% Profit Jump
Unicommerce, the e-commerce enablement SaaS platform, has reported robust financial results for the third quarter of FY25, with revenue growing 26% and profit surging more than 60% year-over-year. The company's revenue from operations reached Rs 32.7 crore, up from Rs 26 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
According to its quarterly results filed with the National Stock Exchange, Unicommerce's total revenue for Q3 FY25 climbed to Rs 34.2 crore from Rs 27.6 crore in Q3 FY24, including additional income.
The company demonstrated effective cost management during the quarter, with employee benefits expenses decreasing 11% to Rs 12.8 crore from Rs 14 crore year-over-year. However, server hosting expenses increased 47% to Rs 2.2 crore, reflecting the company's investment in technological infrastructure. Other notable expenses included depreciation and amortization of Rs 1.1 crore and finance costs of Rs 1.2 crore.
Despite a 14.7% increase in total expenses to Rs 25.7 crore, Unicommerce significantly improved its profitability. The company reported a net profit of Rs 6.3 crore in Q3 FY25, representing a 61.5% increase from Rs 3.9 crore in the same quarter last year.
The quarter also marked a strategic expansion for the SoftBank-backed company, as Unicommerce acquired Shipway, a Gurugram-based e-commerce technology platform. This acquisition positions Unicommerce to compete more effectively with Shiprocket, which is reportedly planning an IPO to raise between Rs 2,000 and Rs 2,500 crore. Shiprocket, backed by Tribe Capital, has recently transformed into a public entity.
Since its public market debut in August 2024, Unicommerce has seen substantial growth in its market value. The company's market capitalization has reached Rs 1,626 crore, and its share price has climbed to Rs 158.8 from the initial listing price of Rs 108. This reflects strong investor confidence in its growth strategy and market position.
