Udaan Reported Record Growth in 2024, Daily Buyer Count Up 70%
B2B e-commerce platform Udaan announced strong growth numbers for 2024, with overall business jumping 65% and daily active buyers surging 70% to an all-time high.
The platform's FMCG business alone delivered 2.45 billion units of products last year. Private label brands saw explosive growth, with revenue up 250% year over year as Kirana retailers increasingly sought value-driven products.
"This has been a defining year for us," said Vaibhav Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of Udaan, pointing to the success of the company's eB2B cluster strategy in empowering small retailers across India.
The company reported improved financial metrics, with gross margins rising 200 basis points and contribution margins up 320 basis points. Customer retention strengthened, with repeat rates hitting record levels – up 1,000 basis points from 2023. The platform processed 85.85 million order lines while achieving a 30% reduction in EBITDA burn.
Metro cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata continued driving growth, while smaller towns, including Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Indore, showed rapid adoption. Pune, Mysore, and Mumbai emerged as high-growth markets, reflecting broader acceptance of digital B2B trade among small businesses.
Buyer engagement metrics showed promising trends: wallet share was up 20%, and monthly repeat ratios exceeded 90%. In 2025, Gupta said the company will focus on customer-centric innovation and operational efficiency while strengthening India's Kirana ecosystem.
