Clean-label health food brand The Whole Truth has raised $15 million in Series C funding, with investment firm Sofina leading the round. All existing investors, including Z47, Peak XV Partners, and Sauce.VC participated in the financing.

The Mumbai-based company will use the fresh capital to expand its in-house manufacturing facilities, hire key personnel, and drive category expansion. The brand, which previously attracted investments from notable entrepreneurs like Zerodha's Nithin Kamath, Swiggy's Sriharsha Majety, and Rebel Foods' Jaydeep Burman, has been steadily growing its presence in India's packaged food market.

The Whole Truth, founded by former Unilever executive Shashank Mehta, offers a range of health products, including protein bars, peanut butter, dark chocolates, energy bars, immunity balls, and muesli. The company maintains a strong direct-to-consumer focus, with its website generating 80-85% of total sales.

Financial reports show the company's revenue jumped 81% to Rs 65.3 crore in FY24 from Rs 35.96 crore in FY23. During the same period, the company cut its losses by 33%.

Looking beyond its core customer base of fitness enthusiasts, The Whole Truth is now targeting new demographics, including women, teenagers, and older adults. The company faces competition from established players in India's $40 billion packaged food industry, including Yoga Bar, Slurrp Farm, True Elements, Opensecrets, and Monsoon Harvest.
