Beverage manufacturer Rio Innobev has secured Rs 10 crore in its first institutional fundraising round. Atomic Capital led the pre-Series A investment alongside other participants. The Pune-based beverage company will allocate the fresh capital toward expanding distribution networks, strengthening brand presence, developing new products, and upgrading manufacturing facilities.

Founded in 2014 by brothers Rahul, Rajiv, and Rohan Sangoi, Rio Innobev has built its reputation on two flagship product lines. RIO Bubbly Fruit Drink offers exotic fruit flavors containing 15% real juice, fortified with honey and Vitamin C while containing 25% less sugar than competitors. The company's RIO BOOM Energy Drink targets younger consumers with its bold flavor profile and energy-enhancing formula.

The company currently maintains a retail presence in over 35,000 stores across more than 25 cities throughout Maharashtra and Gujarat. Rio Innobev aims to triple this footprint to 100,000 outlets within three years while strengthening its omnichannel strategy through quick commerce platforms and modern trade partnerships.

Since its inception, Rio Innobev has maintained EBITDA-positive operations, growing from 750,000 units sold in its first year to exceeding 15 million cans and bottles annually today. The brand emphasizes innovation, rapid market response, and quality standards as core values. Future plans include portfolio expansion across indulgence beverages, health drinks, and functional beverage categories to meet changing consumer demands.

Rio Innobev products are currently available through major retail chains, including Dmart, Reliance Retail, 7-Eleven, Wellness Forever, and Patel Retail. Digital distribution includes quick commerce platforms Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and Blinkit. The company intends to significantly increase its presence in India's metropolitan and emerging mini-metropolitan markets over the next three years.

Manufacturing investments will focus on accelerating market deployment capabilities, enhancing product quality, and improving unit economics as Rio Innobev positions itself to compete more aggressively against national beverage brands and regional players across India's growing functional beverage market.
