Rebel Foods Enters 15-Minute Food Delivery Race with QuickiES Launch
Cloud kitchen unicorn Rebel Foods has announced its entry into the competitive quick-service food delivery market with the launch of QuickiES, its new 15-minute delivery platform. The move positions the company in direct competition with established food delivery giants Zomato and Swiggy.
The launch was revealed through a LinkedIn post by Sagar Kochhar, co-founder and CEO of EatSure, marking Rebel Foods' strategic expansion into the rapidly growing instant food delivery segment.
Founded in 2011 by Jaydeep Barman and Kallol Banerjee, Rebel Foods has built a substantial presence in the cloud kitchen space, operating more than 450 kitchens across India, the MENA region, Indonesia, and the UK. The company's portfolio includes popular brands such as Behrouz Biryani, Mandarin Oak, Oven Story Pizza, and Wendy's, among others.
The Mumbai-based company has demonstrated strong financial performance, with operational revenue reaching Rs 1,420 crore in FY24. Notably, the company has reduced its losses by over 42% to Rs 378 crore during the same period. To date, Rebel Foods has secured $773 million in funding from prominent investors, including KKR, Temasek, Lightbox, and Evolvence.
The instant food delivery market has become increasingly competitive, with several major players launching dedicated quick-service platforms. Zepto introduced the Zepto Cafe with 10-minute delivery promises, while Zomato-owned Blinkit launched the Bistro. Swiggy has entered the fray with SNACC, its 15-minute delivery app. This domain has multiple new entrants like Swish, Magicpin, and Zing.
This expansion into quick-service delivery represents a significant strategic move for Rebel Foods. It wants to capitalize on the growing demand for instant food delivery services while leveraging its extensive cloud kitchen network.
