Proxgy Attracts Star Power: Cricketer Ajinkya Rahane Joins $3M Series A Investment Round
IoT solutions provider Proxgy has secured a notable investment from Indian cricket star Ajinkya Rahane as part of its ongoing $3 million Series A funding round. The round has attracted an impressive roster of investors, including Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, actor Suniel Shetty, industrialist Vinod Duggar, and US-based investor Manish Patel of CMG Group.
Founded in 2020 by Pulkit Ahuja, Proxgy has rapidly evolved from its initial virtual shopping assistant model to become a significant player in industrial IoT solutions. Proxgy's flagship products include SmartHat, a wearable safety device for industrial workers; Sleefe, a productivity monitoring solution; and Lockator, an advanced tracking system. These innovative products are designed to ensure the critical safety of workers while addressing optimum efficiency challenges across the manufacturing, construction, and mining domains.
Surprisingly, Proxgy was first launched a few years ago as a virtual shopping and travel platform. However, when that failed, Proxgy pivoted into industrial IoT solutions when market conditions shifted during COVID-19.
Rahane's investment is particularly significant as it marks his entry into the technology investment space. The cricketer emphasized that he is particularly piqued by the alignment between sporting excellence and Proxgy's values of innovation and precision while maintaining global industrial safety standards.
The fresh capital will fuel Proxgy's international expansion plans and accelerate the development of its IoT product suite. The company has already established a presence in several Indian states and is eyeing Southeast Asia and the Middle East markets. Its solutions have found early adoption among major industrial players, with several Fortune 500 companies currently piloting their technology.
It is no surprise that Proxgy has won several industry awards for technological innovation and worker safety due to its innovative products. The company's solutions have demonstrated a significant impact, with early adopters reporting substantial improvements in workplace safety metrics and operational efficiency. As industrial sectors worldwide increasingly prioritize worker safety and productivity, Proxgy's timing and technology position it uniquely for growth in the global IoT marketplace.
Founder Pulkit Ahuja envisions Proxgy becoming a global brand name in industrial IoT solutions and introducing additional products targeting specific industry verticals. The current funding round, enriched by the diverse expertise of its new investors, marks a significant milestone in this ambitious journey.
