Ola to Roll Out 10-Minute Food Delivery Service Ola Dash Nationwide
Ola Consumer has announced plans to expand its quick food delivery service, Ola Dash, across India following successful trials in Bengaluru. The service, which promises 10-minute delivery times, has already captured a 10% market share in Bengaluru's food delivery market.
Kapish Malhotra, the head of Commerce at Ola Consumer, said, "We have one of the largest two-wheeler fleets in the country and a deep understanding of our consumer base through our consumer app. We can leverage these advantages to provide quick and affordable food delivery services."
Operating within a one-kilometer radius to maintain its 10-minute delivery promise, Ola Dash has already achieved significant milestones in Bengaluru. The company's food delivery business has grown to approximately 20% the size of incumbent players. Early results show that about 10% of food orders are now being fulfilled through the Dash service.
The company conducts its food delivery operations entirely through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), embracing an open-network approach. This helps to offer better pricing for customers and, at the same time, provide better commissions for restaurants and cafe owners.
Ola plans to expand beyond food delivery into quick commerce for various categories, including grocery, FMCG, beauty, personal care, fashion, and electronics. In its current operations, the company reports positive feedback from all stakeholders - consumers, restaurant partners, and delivery partners.
Launching Ola Dash nationwide represents a significant step in the company's efforts to revolutionize the tumultuous quick commerce sector, using its established presence in the mobility market and leveraging its extensive two-wheeler fleet network.
