Leap Secures $65M in Mixed Funding Round, Strengthens Position in International Education Market
Leap, the comprehensive international student mobility platform, has secured $65 million in a new funding round combining primary and secondary equity. The investment was spearheaded by Apis Growth Markets Fund III and Apis Global Growth Fund III, with participation from existing investors Owl Ventures, Jungle Ventures, and Peak XV Partners.
The latest capital injection brings Leap's total equity funding to over $200 million since its establishment in 2019. While the company maintained discretion regarding its current valuation, sources indicate it was pursuing a valuation exceeding $1 billion in this round. The company's previous Series D round raised $75 million at a valuation between $850 and $900 million.
Founded in Bengaluru and San Francisco, Leap operates multiple brands, including LeapScholar, LeapFinance, GeeBee, and Yocket. The company has established itself as a comprehensive platform for international education aspirants, providing services ranging from IELTS, TOEFL, and SAT test preparation to admissions counseling, visa assistance, and international student financial services.
The platform has demonstrated significant market penetration, particularly in facilitating student placements at institutions across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia. Leap reports serving more than 1 million students and establishing partnerships with over 1,000 premier educational institutions globally.
"Students love Leap's one-stop approach to their international education needs," said Vaibhav Singh, co-founder of Leap. "We have witnessed 5x growth since our Series D two years ago. Today, Leap is not only the study-abroad platform of choice in India but is also rapidly establishing itself as a global leader, scaling operations in 10+ countries."
The funding comes amid significant investment activity in the international education financing sector. According to data from TheKredible, Leap and its competitors—including Auxilo, Avanse Financial, GryQuest, Financepeer, Propelld, Mpower Financing, and Eduvanz—have collectively raised approximately $500 million in funding over the past 24 months.
