Even though the iPhone 16 series is a relatively new launch, there are multiple rumors and renders about the upcoming iPhone 17.

According to prominent leaker Majin Bu, the iPhone 17 series may abandon the signature square camera island, a staple of iPhone design since the iPhone 11's debut in 2020. Instead, the new model could feature a horizontal camera arrangement reminiscent of Google Pixel's distinctive pill-shaped camera bar. Reports suggest this new black pill-shaped camera design will be consistent across all color variants of the device.

Conflicting Reports from Industry Insiders

While YouTuber Jon Prosser's FrontPageTech channel shared renders depicting a similar but notably larger camera bar, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has already dismissed these claims. Despite the ongoing debate about the exact design, industry sources suggest the iPhone 17 series will likely maintain camera hardware specifications similar to its predecessor, the iPhone 16.

Dynamic Island Evolution

Digital Chat Station, another reliable source in the tech community, reports that Apple is working to reduce the size of the Dynamic Island. They plan to do this by making the internal components more smaller.

iPhone Air Speculation

In recent months, there have been persistent rumors about an "iPhone Air" variant, which would potentially rival the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Edge in terms of thinness.

It should be noted that the iPhone 17's launch is still more than six months away, and such early speculative rumors should be approached with considerable skepticism. There is a possibility that industry design plans could undergo significant changes in the coming months, making current renders and rumors preliminary. The company's final design choices won't be confirmed until closer to the official launch date.
