Head Digital Works Buys Adda52 for Rs 491 Crore to Boost Online Poker Game
In a bold move to solidify its position in India’s booming online gaming market, Head Digital Works has acquired Deltatech Gaming Ltd, the company behind one of the country’s oldest and most respected online poker platforms, Adda52. The deal, valued at Rs 491 crore, will be completed in two phases and marks a major step forward for Head Digital Works as it looks to expand its online poker offerings.
As part of the agreement, Head Digital Works will first take over 51% of Deltatech Gaming. Once the merger is complete, DeltaCorp Limited, the parent company of Deltatech Gaming, will own a 5.7% stake in Head Digital Works, which operates under the A23 brand. A23, which launched its poker platform just last October, is banking on Adda52’s experience and technological edge to fuel its growth in the competitive online gaming space.
The acquisition is all about combining strengths. Head Digital Works wants to tap into Adda52’s years of expertise in online poker to create a more robust and engaging experience for users. The Founder and CEO of Head Digital Works - Deepak Gullapalliis quite happy about the deal. Regarding it, he said that, “This acquisition allows us to offer a richer gaming experience, push the boundaries of technology, and meet the ever-changing needs of our players. Adda52 has been a pioneer in online poker, with a fantastic platform and a loyal user base. By merging our capabilities, we aim to grow our poker business, explore new opportunities, and build India’s most comprehensive skill-gaming platform,” he said.
The Managing Director of Deltatech Gaming Ashish Kapadia matched Gullapalli’s enthusiasm about the acquisition. Kapadia said that, “We’re thrilled to partner with Deepak and his team, who have done incredible work in shaping the online Rummy market in India. This deal not only strengthens Adda52’s leadership in online poker but also sets the stage for exciting new developments.”
This partnership between Head Digital Works and Adda52 is expected to set new standards in the industry. By blending innovation with a focus on skill-based gameplay, the two companies are poised to redefine what players can expect from online gaming in India. As they join forces, the future looks bright for both brands—and for gamers across the country.
