Private equity firm Haveli Investments has snapped up cybersecurity company AppViewX, doubling down on certificate management tech while tapping into India's tech workforce.

Haveli Investments has acquired certificate lifecycle management and public key infrastructure specialist AppViewX for an undisclosed sum, the company announced Saturday. The acquisition highlights Haveli's strategic push into the growing machine identity management market while betting on India's technology talent pool to drive future innovation.

The deal brings in new leadership, with cybersecurity veteran Dino DiMarino taking over as CEO. Jim Vasil joined as CFO and Stephen Tarleton as Chief Revenue Officer, aiming to ramp up global sales.

AppViewX runs two major tech hubs in India – Coimbatore and Bengaluru – which Haveli views as critical to future growth. These centers house most of the company's engineering and development teams working on security solutions, particularly for quantum-ready encryption.

"We started in India and grew into a global security player," said founder and CTO Anand Purusothaman. "Our Indian centers aren't just support – they're where our best innovations happen."

Haveli's latest acquisition hopes to make a dent in this critical domain as companies struggle with managing thousands of digital certificates across complex networks. When certificates expire unexpectedly, websites crash, and systems fail – problems AppViewX's automation tools are designed to prevent.

The acquisition positions AppViewX to expand its certificate management and quantum-safe security offerings while giving Haveli a stronger foothold in the cybersecurity market.
