Telangana is betting on artificial intelligence, inking a deal with Google to bring AI solutions to farming, transport, education, and other sectors across the state.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu were at T-Hub yesterday as state officials shook hands with Google on the partnership. The tech giant is set to roll up its sleeves and work on several fronts - from helping farmers with AI-powered tools to making commutes smoother through better transit data.

"This isn't just another tech deal," Reddy said at the signing. "We're looking to reshape Telangana through AI, bringing better governance and services to our people."

The partnership has some practical goals in mind. Google will help train workers in AI skills and beef up digital learning using their education platform. They're also planning to launch an Open Agriculture Network to connect farmers with needed resources.

Google's India chief, Preeti Lobana, seems equally fired up about the project. "We're bringing our AI know-how to the table," she said, "and we're excited to work with Telangana to build an AI-ready workforce and tackle challenges in farming, education, and sustainability."

The deal also includes plans to make more data publicly available through Google's Data Commons platform, speed up solar power adoption, and boost the state's startups through accelerator programs.
