Digital infrastructure provider Lightstorm has raised Rs 700 crore in a funding round led by NIIF Infrastructure Finance Limited (NIIF IFL), marking a significant boost for India's digital connectivity sector.
The funding comes at a crucial time as enterprises across India seek robust network infrastructure to support their digital transformation initiatives. Lightstorm, which launched its India operations in 2020, has already established a substantial presence with over 30,000 kilometers of fiber network and 700 Tbps capacity serving more than 100 customers.

"This partnership will fuel our growth plans, allowing us to tap into expansion and new opportunities and unlock our business potential," said Amajit Gupta, Group CEO and MD of Lightstorm. "As AI and data center growth reshape India's digital ecosystem, this funding will enable us to build the robust connectivity backbone required to support this transformation."

The company, founded by Gupta and Ranjan Banerjee, specializes in cloud and data center networking solutions for hyperscalers, cloud-native companies, and large enterprises across the Asia-Pacific region. The fresh capital will support network expansion and enhance operational capabilities to meet growing enterprise demand.

Lightstorm is backed by I Squared Capital, and over the years, it has made its own mark on India's digital infrastructure landscape. Its focus on secure and scalable connectivity solutions that enable integration across cloud and data center environments has made it one of the trendsetters in this domain.

The investment from NIIF IFL, a prominent infrastructure-focused financial institution, underscores the growing importance of digital infrastructure in India's economic development.
