Cross-Border Neobank Zolve Secures $251 Million to Revolutionize Global Banking
Fintech startup Zolve has raised a massive $251 million in fresh funding to expand its cross-border banking services for global professionals and students.
Creaegis spearheaded the Series B round, which included HSBC, SBI Investment, GMO Venture Partners, and DG Daiwa Ventures. Previous backers, including Accel, Lightspeed, Sparta Group, and DST Global, doubled down on their investments.
"Nobody designs financial systems for people who move around," says Zolve's founder Raghu G. "Cross a border and your credit history basically vanishes. We're fixing that headache."
Since entering the market in 2021, Zolve has acquired 750,000 customers and handled over $1.2 billion in transactions. The company turned profitable at the customer level earlier this year and expects to reach overall profitability by late 2025.
The firm plans to expand into Canada next, followed by the UK and Australia. Beyond geographic expansion, Zolve will offer auto loans, personal loans, and more education financing options.
Word-of-mouth has fueled much of Zolve's explosive growth. The company has gradually expanded from essential banking services to offering education loans with scholarships, discounted international flights, US SIM cards, and various insurance products.
Prakash Parthasarathy from Creaegis says they're backing Zolve because the team is "solving a real pain point for a growing customer base that traditional banks have largely ignored."
The funding includes a warehouse credit line from Community Investment Management, which will help Zolve expand its lending operations across markets.
