CarTrade Posts Strong Q3 Results with 26% Revenue Growth, Returns to Profitability
CarTrade, the automotive classifieds platform, announced a significant financial turnaround in its third-quarter FY25 results. The company reported a net profit of Rs 45.5 crore, up from a loss of Rs 23.5 crore in the same period last year. According to unaudited consolidated financial results filed with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the company's revenue from operations grew 26.6% year over year to Rs 176 crore.
The Mumbai-based company's strong performance was driven by growth across its three main business segments: Consumer, Remarketing, and Classifieds. The consumer segment, which contributed 39% of total operating revenue, showed particularly strong growth, increasing to Rs 68 crore from Rs 50 crore the previous year. The remarketing and classified segments generated Rs 58 crore and Rs 50 crore, respectively, in Q3 FY25.
Additional income of Rs 17 crore from non-operating businesses brought CarTrade's total revenue to Rs 193 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 152 crore in Q3 FY24. The company has maintained strong momentum throughout the fiscal year, having already accumulated a revenue of Rs 472 crore and a net profit of Rs 99 crore in the first nine months.
On the operational front, CarTrade demonstrated effective cost management, with total expenses increasing by just 12% to Rs 140 crore. Employee benefits, which accounted for 53% of overall spending, saw a modest 7.3% increase to Rs 73 crore, including share-based expenses of Rs 3.36 crore.
The market has responded positively to these results, with CarTrade's stock price rising 4.78% to Rs 1,433.3 as of 12:47 PM. The company currently commands a market capitalization of Rs 6,789 crore (approximately $800 million).
This strong quarterly performance represents a significant milestone for CarTrade. It marks its successful transition from losses to profitability while maintaining robust revenue growth across its core business segments.
