Looks like Siri's big makeover is stuck in traffic. Apple's struggling to get its revamped voice assistant out the door, with reports abounding about fresh delays that could push the launch to May.

The new features, first teased at last year's WWDC, were supposed to drop with iOS 18.4 in April. But engineers are pulling their hair out over bugs and technical headaches. Beta testers say the new tricks - like understanding what's on your screen - aren't working right.

This isn't great timing for Apple. While they've been tinkering with Siri, ChatGPT, and Google's Gemini have been stealing the spotlight in the AI race. Apple patched some ChatGPT support earlier, but Siri's still playing catch-up.

The upgrade was meant to be a big deal. Apple promised three game-changers last June: Siri would finally tap into your personal data to give better answers, get more thoughtful about controlling apps, and actually see what's on your screen. It's pretty basic stuff for 2025, but Siri's been the same old robot since 2011.

While iOS 18.4's beta might show up next week, don't wait for the new Siri. It'll land with iOS 18.5 in May - if we're lucky. Until then, it looks like we're stuck with the same old "Hey Siri" we've known for years.
