Actis Buys Stride Climate Investments, Expands Solar Portfolio
Sustainable infrastructure investor Actis has purchased a complete 100% stake in Stride Climate Investments, adding 371MW of solar power assets to its Indian renewable energy portfolio. The acquisition covers 21 solar projects in seven Indian states, most located in Gujarat. While Actis did not reveal the deal's financial details, the purchase represents a significant expansion of its renewable energy footprint.
Since its inception, Actis has invested over $7.1 billion in Asia, developing more than 8GW of installed energy capacity, including over 5.5GW of renewable energy projects. Stride becomes Actis' third energy generation platform in India, following previous BluPine Energy and Athena Renewables acquisitions. The investment aligns with Actis' strategy of backing long-term infrastructure investments.
"Stride offers a compelling opportunity," said Adrian Mucalov, Actis Partner and Head of Long Life Infrastructure. "With a decade of operating history and strong cash generation, the business presents an attractive investment in a dynamic market."
The acquisition shows the growing investor confidence in India's renewable energy sector, which attracts significant international capital.
Stride's solar portfolio represents another step in Actis' commitment to sustainable infrastructure development across emerging markets.
